First Roller In-line Hockey World Championship

The First Roller In-line Hockey World Championship was the inaugural such event organized by the Fédération Internationale de Roller Skating. It was hosted by the United States in the suburb of Chicago, Villa Park. Twelve national teams competed in one venue, the Odeum Expo Center. The competition also served as qualifications for the 2nd competition.

==Host selection==
The venue listed as host for the inline hockey teams was the Odeum Expo Center's South Hall (capacity around 2500). The arena was completed and opened in 1981.
